Pastor Chris and Leah have been serving at Neighborhood Assemblies of God Church Okinawa along with their children Caleb and Kaylee since 2009 after serving 20 years in the United States Navy. They understand the unique struggles that the men and women of our Armed Forces go through. God has put a burden in their hearts to reach out to them with the love of Jesus. It would be a sad injustice to those who put their lives on the line for us every day to lose out on salvation because we, the church, neglected them.

 

  With the divorce rate in the military well above the national average, deployments getting longer and more frequent, families dealing with the effects of PTSD and traumatic injuries the need for military ministries is all the more apparent.

 

  We have a wonderful mix of Military, Japanese and International members at Neighborhood Church. Less than 1 percent of Japan’s population serve Christ making it the second largest Unreached People group in the world according to the Joshua Project, we are in the middle of an abundantly fertile and challenging mission field. Japan is a land of wonderful people who are kind and loving but they need to hear the message of the Gospel.

 

  God has truly been working greatly here and we have seen miracles in the lives of those that come to trust in Jesus as their Lord. A service never goes by where someone doesn’t come to
Jesus or re-dedicate their lives to the Lord. We have seen miraculous healings and lives transformed by the Power of God.
